Meditation month: Day 7

This is not my chair

Today, I sat on a chair facing west, palms facing the celing.

Again, no dramatic insights to report. I started the meditation with my attention on the 6th chakra, but a lot of time was spent feeling what Eckhart Tolle calls “the inner body”. (You know the sensation you get when you can feel your hands from the inside? Like that but feeling the whole body.)

I had the impression that my attention was recharging the cells of my body in some way. So I made that my intention. I had thoughts of health and healing, flexibility etc…

Yesterday, I watched this video from Russell Brand. In the video, he talks about praying to be “ready” and that resonated with me. If we don’t know what’s going to happen (and we never really do – we only ever think we do), it makes sense to be prepared for any possibility. One way of doing this is to have a body in the best possible working order. That includes feeding it with what is beneficial (I watched The Game Changers a few days ago and would recommend it) and avoiding what is damaging; giving it loving attention must also help.

At the end of the meditation, I had the impulse to try a sound meditation, using crystal bowls. So I will find a video tomorrow and try that. I have never been able to see the colours of my chakras and I wonder what giving them some attention for a while might do.
