Meditation month: Day 6
I sat in the same position as yesterday, in the same place.
No great insights today. I did notice – and it’s something I’ve noticed before – that when attention is on the mind and thoughts, the body tenses up. It is only subtle. But when I catch myself thinking – watching the film in the mind, as I used to call it – and return my attention to my body, I feel the tension leave. It might be muscles releasing in the buttocks, or the toes moving slightly, but it shows the tension was there.
It was interesting that I was looking forward to the meditation, as I lit the candle and incense. You may find this reassuring, if your mind is telling you this must be very boring. It is not.
